For the first time, on 24th August 2010, AIESEC, the world’s largest student organization, will hold an environmental themed conference at the Expo in Shanghai, where 10 project teams from all over China will compete for the Green Cup and a prize of 5000 RMB!

The four- hour- event, which is co-organized by Greennovate and AIESEC, supported by FedEx, will attract 140 students from China’s top universities, 13 project teams, 4 distinguished speakers, and several media outlets. Set in the USA Pavilion, this exclusive conference is sure to honour AIESECs achievements of the year 2009/10, and give a strong motivation impulse for the coming year.

GUANGZHOU, May 18, 2009 – FedEx Express, in cooperation with the China National Badminton Team (CNBT) and Greennovate Team, held an Environmental Awareness T-shirt Painting Contest. The contest, held at the English School Affiliated with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (ESAGDUFS) in Guangzhou, aimed to increase environmental awareness among students.

Greennovate Team shared what “green” means to all attendees through interactive activities and educated students on how to protect the environment in their daily lives. Students then painted their desired “green lifestyle” on t-shirts together with FedEx volunteers and CNBT athletes. The CNBT took part in this activity right after finishing the Sudirman Cup in Guangzhou over the weekend. “The environment is very important to all members of the National Badminton Team,” said Coach Li Yongbo of CNBT. “We are happy to team up with FedEx to increase environmental protection awareness among students.”

“FedEx is committed to environmental protection and energy saving,” said Catherine Lu, managing director of marketing, FedEx China. “We are pleased to cooperate with the China National Badminton Team and Greennovate Team to make the environment top of mind.”

Greennovate spoke at Spark09

 Mihela delivered a speech ‘How doubling contributes to a greener China’ to inspire businesses and individuals to take actions towards better quality of life.

Greennovate returned from the third module at Fedex in Wuhan. With the goal of building a solid understanding of environmental basics as well as getting employees directly involved in raising environmental awareness in their community, the program has seen great enthusiasm from FedEx employees in Wuhan.

A total of 85 Wuhan-based FedEx employees have signed up to volunteer for this program. This time we covered challenges as carrying capacity, population and limited resources. It was also the first time that Fedex volunteers joined us in the evening and help in the local school to start with the simple waste separation project.We cannot only receive while not giving,” “We cannot only receive while not giving,”said Chris Li,FedEx HR executive in Wuhan . “I join the program to gain knowledge of the environment and deliver this knowledge to others. I hope it will be helpful to the world and our next generation.”

On the Sustainability BEAT

Greennovate returned to FedEx, Wuhan for another session of BEAT (Business Environmental Awareness Training). The latest module focused on sustainability, and how we can contribute through our consumer habits and decisions at work. As a project, participants cooperated to redesign a product in a more sustainable way through reduced packaging, recycled materials, and long product lifespan.
