Join us for GECKO on line launch with Wheel2Wheel team on Sept 20th

Dear supporters,

we have exciting news! We have been working on putting our best environmental lectures online, and with the generous help of the adventurous Wheel2Wheel team we are launching our GECKO online platform this month. Morgan Parker motor biked across Asia to support local projects and raise awareness on local challenges and he picked GECKO to be one of the projects. We met him and his team in Yangshuo this spring when he was starting his journey and he joined us in our training session at the local school there. Since then, he has traveled through 10 countries over 20,000 kilometers in 125 days. During that time, Wheel2Wheel supported our online development efforts so that we would have the first series of lectures online available for all of you to check them out. Join us on Sept 20th to welcome Morgan in Shanghai, hear about his adventures and experience GECKO online.

3/17 – Labor + Environment Training in Shenzhen

On March 17 in Shenzhen, Greennovate and the Fair Labor Association will be offering a training course targeted for management of apparel and sportswear factories. Increasingly, top foreign brands are demanding that factories meet additional labor and environmental requirements without relaxing the usual demands of cost, quality and timing. The purpose of the training is to prepare factory management to meet the labor and environmental policies of the most responsible foreign brands without raising costs. Sign up for the program here.

3/2 – 3/5 GECKO team in Yangshuo

In early March, the GECKO Trainer team will travel to Yangshuo for three days, to teach in local schools. The team is scheduled to meet with Morgan Parker who will stop by during his Wheel2Wheel adventure trip through Asia. His charity organization will raise awareness and funds to support GECKO’s mission.

11/26 – GECKO on Chongming Island

On 26 November, the GECKO Team will go to Chongming Island, to raise environmental awareness at a local school. This is the first time for Greennovate to visit this small island out of Shanghai, and we are excited about the class, which will happen as part of the Eco Global Party on that weekend. 11/18-21 GECKO Train the Trainer in Ningbo and Dalian

November will be a busy month for Greennovate’s GECKO team, as many AIESEC clubs around China are starting their green education projects. Of the clubs that are partnering with us, several have asked us to come to their city to conduct a training for their green volunteers and to give them advice on project management. Under our cooperation plan, we will spend two days with each project team, to supoprt them to maximize their social impact.
On 11-12 November, we will be in Chengdu at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. As a special event during our visit, they will hold a Networking Party. In the following week, at 18-19, we will travel to Ningbo, where we will train volunteers from University of Nottingham Ningbo, China. Then, on 20-21 November, we will travel to Dalian, to work with two project teams from Dalian University of Technology. Furthermore, the teams will organize a conference on Entrepreneurship, which we will join during our visit.
